Welcome To Floors Castle. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the Roxburghe Estates and the many activities available to our visitors at Floors Castle, on the estate grounds, on our superb championship golf course and at The Roxburghe Hotel. Over the last 20 years, I have endeavored to expand the operations of the Roxburghe Estates into more commercial, tourist related areas, which complement the stunning Scottish Borders countryside that I and my family are fortunate enough to live in. Floors Castle was originally built for my predecessor, the 1st Duke of Roxburghe, in 1721. The Castle was first opened to the public in 1977. Since then we have welcomed well over a million visitors. This is very much our family home and I am sure you will enjoy visiting if you get the chance. Once here you can sample our Chef's cooking in the Terrace Restaurant and the Coffee Shop. You can explore the magnificent Castle Gardens, enjoy the historical architecture and artifacts within Floors Castle. For those of you would like to stay longer our Roxburghe Hotel offers a relaxed Country House style accommodation and now has the enormous cachet of the superb Roxburghe Championship Golf Course in its grounds. I have been delighted by the terrific response from all golfers who have played it, and it will only get better and better. I am extremely lucky to have inherited such a fabulous estate in one of the most beautiful parts of Britain, and I hope you enjoy your visit and share the enormous pleasure we derive from Floors and its surroundings. 10th Duke of Roxburghe.
